TRANING
General
Training is provided depending on the specific circumstances prevailing at the time of recruitment.
In the case of an existing store owner joining FoodZone as a new franchise it is based on in house training/evaluation by the regional development manager. This is done on a continuous base and involves formal evaluation on prescribes score sheets. The aim is dual in that it is aimed in enhancing the business skills of the member as well as providing him/her with the knowledge to run a successful FoodZone Franchise.
In the case of a new entrant – thus a member without previous retail experience either acquiring an existing business or opening a new store. In the latter case pre- opening guidance is provided by the regional development staff as well as formal introduction training provided by contracted specialists. The latter sourced and contracted by FoodZone to provide specific formal training and assistance in aspects related to retail- thus in buying, marketing, merchandising, administration, finance and personnel.
Specialized Training
This refers to training of management and staff in specific service departments-
thus bakery, butchery, deli etc. Due to the specialized nature of equipment etc.
the best training is provided by the suppliers (bakery equipment etc.).
FoodZone therefore co-ordinates/sources and organize formal
training with relevant suppliers for the member and his staff.
Suppliers usually provide this at their own cost. Although it
is usually aimed at traditional service departments, it is not
limited to it – training in computers hardware is also done in this
way. Training in FoodZone computer related software is provided
by in house specialized staff.
